As the Training Specialist, you will provide On the Job Training instruction on TACNET and other Navy C4ISR systems, network and system administration. In this role, you will:

 

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the following:  CANES, ADNS, CENTRIX-MME, SCI-N, SubLAN, ISNS
  • Provide OJT instruction on TACNET operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems to program management. 
  • Support new system installations, integrations, and upgrades.
  • Install, troubleshoot, maintains and repair products/equipment. 
  • Establish testing protocols and standards, providing training and guidance to engineers and technicians.
  • Test interoperability of systems, measures transmission/outputs, troubleshoots and resolves issues, and maintains detailed evaluation and repair reports.
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex functional problems that impact function's success.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC (Common Access Card).
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug/background screening.
  • A High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional related experience 
    • A Bachelor's Degree will be considered in lieu of A High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional related experience
  • Cybersecurity Work Force (CSWF) qualified or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • 3 years of experience (Experience in training highly preferred)
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and repair TACNET systems as an individual and in team situations.
  • Ability to assess and respond to situations where standard procedures have failed in isolating or fixing problem equipment.
  • Ability to promptly respond to telephone and email requests for technical support.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as necessary.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Navy’s Basic Instructor Training (either NEC 805A or 9502) or a current industry standard trainer certification, such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) or CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+)
  • Experience in training TACNET, or other Navy C4I systems
  • Experience in three (3) of the following four (4) areas:
    • Network Administration
    • System Administration
    • Technical Documentation
    • Training
  • Demonstrated expertise in C4I Networks and System Administration.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $54,165.33 to $81,248.56; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
