Position Description

Serco is hiring a Installation Specialist to be part of a dynamic team supporting our US. Navy Ships with equipment, and C5ISR system installations located in the beautiful surroundings in Chesapeake, Virginia. 

 

Serco supports our US Naval Ships with successful and safe work by providing cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations for our Military. The Installation Specialist will be supporting the buildup and modernization of facilities the United States. You will be part of member team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the customers for their outstanding contributions to several contracts and programs.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for installing various equipment, machinery, and computer systems for the U.S. Navy Ships.
  • Install, servicing, and repairing major components for the ships. 
  • Manage fabrication and assembly of various electromechanical and electronic assemblies within the team
  • Review and follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to completed and successful tasks within in deadlines.
  • Be able to work in high heat spaces and climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders
  • Have the ability to effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-pace dynamic production environment.
  • Pay critical attention to safety. 

 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to travel  up to 50%.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • The ability to work any shift/designated hours required.
  • Ability to work night and weekend shifts and travel as needed.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office products to use and create spreadsheets, reports, etc.

Additional desired skills and experience:

  • 6 years served in the U.S. Navy.
  • 7 years direct shipboard installation experience.
  • 5 years as a Shipboard Installations Supervisor.
