Position Description

Serco is seeking a Team Leader to support and manage the Deep Submergence Systems audit support coordinators for the Submarine Safety and Quality Assurance Division (SEA 07Q) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), located at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C.

 

The SEA 07Q office is responsible and accountable for the Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE), Fly-By-Wire Ship Control Systems (FBW SCS), and Deep Submergence Systems Scope of Certification (DSS-SOC) programs. Its director advises the Deputy Commander (SEA 07) and acts as the Program Manager for SUBSAFE and Quality Assurance programs. SEA 07Q provides quality assurance and independent oversight for all of the SUBSAFE/FBW SCS/DSS-SOC responsible activities across the globe. 

 

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in and manage the administrative survey support team for the DSS certification branch in SEA 07Q. Areas of responsibility include support for advanced undersea systems, to include Deep Submergence Vehicle (DSV) ALVIN, Dry-Deck shelters, Special Operations Forces (SOF) host submarine systems, SEAL Delivery Vehicles, related systems for submarine rescue, and select advanced undersea systems programs.
  • Support the initial and sustaining surveys of dry submersibles, submarine-integrated diving systems, designated support equipment, and shore-based training facilities for these systems.
  • Manage pre-survey correspondence, reference materials, and survey team logistics. Manage on-site survey support including entry and editing deficiencies and preparation of the survey report. Manage post-survey support including organization and management of records and distribution of reports.
  • Facilitate working group meetings, meeting minutes; track corrective actions.
  • Develop and update technical documents, manuals, and Navy directives, to include the requirements manual for system certification procedures and criteria for deep submergence systems.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current or active Secret DoD clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • A Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field
    • High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field
  • 5 years of relevant submarine experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience with Navy acquisition and/or in-service programs.
  • Experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis, and financial/cost analysis.
  • Experience working with Deep Submergence Systems requirements and submarine Quality Assurance practices and policies.

In compliance with the District of Columbia’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is 81153.39 to 131873.27; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
