Position Description

If you like high profile and challenging computer programing work supporting the readiness of America’s Navy ships, aircraft and expeditionary forces – Serco has a great opportunity for you!  This Senior Development Task Lead will be working on a dynamic team supporting applications on the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) military cloud.  Bring your experience and collaborative skills to make an impact toward improving our military defense planning and combat readiness.

 

Serco supports the U.S. Navy as the prime contractor for their Integrated Readiness Modeling, Technical and Professional Support Services contract.  Our team conducts analysis and provides software development and lifecycle support for a portfolio of integrated applications used by the Navy to determine future fleet readiness requirements.

 

You will be part of a 24-member team that works closely with the customer to ensure that our Navy is accurately resourced to provide the required level of maritime combat readiness.

 

ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

 

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $101,939.10- $169,898.50; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate efforts of a 3-5-member IT Systems team ranging in IT experience that supports one or more DISA cloud hosted applications.
  • Develop and maintain complex Web Applications utilizing .NET and SQL Server.
  • Support Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VV&A) activities associated with your application portfolio.
  • Support eMASS and RMF efforts.
  • Maintain scanning records and system controls.
  • Coordinate efforts to ensure IT related documentation is current.
  • Establish close working relationships with one or more government technical points of contract (TPOCs).
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with government TPOCs and with your development team.
  • Provide inputs to weekly and monthly government reports and support emerging government tasking.
  • Identify industry benchmarks, best practices and new approaches to continually improve your application portfolio.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An active Secret clearance.
  • Master’s degree (a bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of relative experience can be substituted for a master’s degree).
  • 5-7 years of experience in leading development and maintaining Web Applications.
  • 5+ years of experience of Enterprise level RDBMS experience such as Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems maintenance, engineering, programming, and analysis.
  • Ability to lead a 3–5-member Software Development team.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • 10% travel required.

 

A plus for succeeding in this position would be any of the following:

  • Military Support experience.
  • Familiar with .NET C# Development.
  • Strong familiarity with SQL Server RDBMS.
  • Familiar with Tableau or other BI tools.
  • Familiar with Fleet Readiness Reporting.
  • Familiar with Program Assessments and Program Objective Memorandums (POM).
  • Modeling to include Performance Feedback.
  • Familiar with O365 Tools.
  • COMPTIA Security + cert.
