Serco’s Training and Experience Program (STEP) is designed to provide undergraduate university and college students paid accredited internship opportunities to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience in a professional environment.
Our 2025 internship opportunities are available throughout the U.S. and Canada, beginning on May 27th and concluding on August 8th, with 1 week off June 30th-July 4th. In addition to gaining hands-on experience, you will attend training sessions taught by skilled leaders in our company to better prepare you for a full-time career.
Is this the internship opportunity for you?
If your answer to these questions is “Yes,” the Engineering Internship is an excellent opportunity for you! By evaluating the construction efforts of Navy Ships and identifying areas to improve, you will both discover your place at Serco this summer and have a lasting impact on our organization and our Navy.

This complements Serco’s other engineering capabilities in shipboard, shore and systems installation and upgrade services to the Navy.
You will join a team that is responsible for overseeing production efforts on ships under construction on the Constellation Class Guided Missile Frigates Contract. This impacts the Navy by capturing and correcting engineering discrepancies in process during the ship construction to deliver a better ship. In your role, you will become part of a team working on field engineering solutions of the US Navy's newest ships and craft.
