Position Description

Are you an organized and results-driven professional with a passion for overseeing and managing programs? Serco-NA is seeking a Program Management Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will use your program management skills to support key projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently and meet strategic objectives. Your contributions will help drive success and support mission-critical operations.

 

This position is located in Norfolk, VA.

 

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret level Security Clearance. This position is also contingent upon an award of contract. 

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee and manage program activities, ensuring all tasks are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on program objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Address difficult, but typically not complex, program challenges by applying practical knowledge and developing solutions to ensure the smooth execution of tasks.
  • Work independently with general supervision, managing daily tasks and making decisions that contribute to the success of the program.
  • May influence others within the job area through the explanation of facts, policies, and practices, ensuring adherence to program guidelines and objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate program documentation, including status reports, meeting minutes, and risk assessments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with program goals.
  • Identify potential risks to the program and propose mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes.
  • Assist in tracking program budgets and ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet program objectives.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in program management, business administration, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in program management or a related field, with a proven track record of overseeing successful projects or programs is required.
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Practical knowledge of program management principles, typically obtained through education and experience, with the ability to apply best practices to the job area.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and resolve program-related challenges efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others and explain program policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision, effectively managing your time and responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • 10% travel required.

Additional Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in a government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with risk management techniques and strategies for program success.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and coordinate across departments to achieve program goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvements in program management processes.

In compliance with local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $44,635.85 to $101,895.84; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills
