The team at HMAS Watson, in Sydney, Australia are extremely proud of the high-quality maritime warfare training services we provide on behalf of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). 

 

As a Principal Warfare Officer Instructor (PWO-I), you will be integral to delivering training for the Navy’s premier warfare course. You will develop and deliver advanced warfare courses, ensuring that officers are equipped with the critical skills needed for tactical decision-making and leadership in naval operations.

 

As a Principal Warfare Officer Instructor, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Developing and delivering advanced courses for Principal Warfare Officers, in line with current doctrine and documentation
  • Delivering additional courses required within the Maritime Warfare Officers’ training continuum.
  • Maintaining up-to-date expertise in Royal Australian Navy warfare policies, procedures, and tactics to ensure the highest standards of training
  • Assisting in the development and updating of course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness for future training requirements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be able to achieve and maintain a defence security clearance of NV1 or higher
  • A Principal Warfare Officer or US equivalent qualification from within the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, or United States Navy
  • At least 2 years of direct experience in a Combat Information Center Surface Warfare Officer role with sea-going assignments.
