Position Description

Serco is seeking a Business Financial Analyst to apply professional talents and subject matter expertise toward development and support of business modeling, briefing materials, budget tracking, and reporting; you will be directly supporting the Business Operations Division for SEA21’s premier platform manager for large combatants. Using Microsoft Office based products and Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) which is adapted from SAP software, you will be responsible for evaluating program activities and constructing executive level briefing material to report programmatic business and financial statuses to key government stakeholders.

 

You will be a part of a small team that works closely with our customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality program support. Matt Weber has led this team for several years and possesses more than 25 years of experience supporting the Navy and is a veteran.

 

The Business Financial Analyst is a vital member of the Large Combatant Platform Manager team.  You will be responsible for performing multi-faceted assignments requiring the analysis of complex systems and projects.  Assignments to include the evaluation and reporting on anticipated future requirements, developing plans for various projects or program activities to meet competing requirements, and provide inputs on feasibility of proposed approaches to programmatic and financial problems.   

 

In this role, you will:

  • Define client needs and develop plan/proposal/strategies for delivery of various projects.
  • Provide policy and guidance recommendation to government senior level staff, based on thorough analysis using accepted theory, principles, and methods for strategic planning.
  • Provide on-going support to the customer on financial reconciliation and reporting, performance to plan (P2P) monitoring, and data analysis.
  • Participate in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, readiness exercises, training, education, and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
  • Monitor and assist in the execution, updating, and projecting of program financial funds and records.
  • Monitor standards for the quality of programs and documents. Assists in the resolution of project and program priorities.  Assure quality control throughout all contract activities.  Exhibit a very high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate superior Microsoft Office program skills to develop PowerPoint briefings, Word documents, Excel analytics, etc. for clients.
  • Demonstrates superior writing and presentation skills to develop conceptual and analytical products for clients.
  • Demonstrate initiative to self-start, when required, with little to no direction or guidance.
  • Demonstrate reading and understanding of official navy correspondence and instructions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • US citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years directly relevant work experience.
    • In some cases, educational career certifications such as DAWIA certifications will be considered in lieu of college degree in conjunction with relevant experience; educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of the client industry (NAVSEA, Navy, DoD), relevant customers, business objectives, problem solving skills as well as OMN, RDTE, and OPN appropriations.
  • Familiarity with Navy business/financial systems such as N-ERP, COBRA, EDW, NEPS, PBIS, PDOCS, and RDOCS

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary for this role is $84,842.18 to $137,867.51 however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
