Position Description

Are you a Computer Operator looking for a place where you can make an impact every day? Serco is engaging in an exciting opportunity to support system design, engineering, hardening, implementation, and operations of Information Technology Systems (ITS) at enterprise and local levels across various government organizations. Our goal is to leverage newer technologies or concepts such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML), Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), and Agile to improve efficiencies and security of ITS. Based out of Jacksonville, FL you could be part of our Defense team supporting NIWC Atlantic Information Technology and Operations Technology systems.

 

We are looking for Computer Operators to be part of our Defense team supporting NIWC Atlantic Information Technology and Operations Technology systems in the following locations:

  • Norfolk, VA
  • Charleston, SC
  • Washington, DC

 

NIWC Atlantic is an Echelon III organization whose mission is to develop, acquire, modernize, deliver, and support integrated and interoperable Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Business IT and Space capabilities in the interest of national defense.

 

NIWC Atlantic cybersecurity, engineering, deployment, and integration encompasses scientific and engineering activities that support, protect, and defend information and information systems (IS) by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Process a range of scheduled routines
  • In addition to operating the system and resolving common error conditions, you may diagnose and act on machine stoppage and error conditions not fully covered by existing procedures and guidelines (e.g., resetting switches and other controls or making mechanical adjustments to maintain or restore equipment operations).
  • In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, you may deviate from standard procedures if standard procedures do not provide a solution and refers to problems which do not respond to corrective procedures to a person of supervisory or higher individual contributor level.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the following areas:

Computer Operator III

  • High school diploma/GED with 3+ years' of IA or related experience
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant certification
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Bachelors degree in related fiel

Computer Operator IV

  • High school diploma/GED with 6 years' of related experience
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant certification
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
