We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer - AVG SME to join our collaborative team supporting United States Navy, our NAVFAC AT/FP program, and specifically our Naval Warfare Information Center - Pacific in SanDiego, CA. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Ashore Program’s mission is to design, procure, integrate, install and sustain the systems/equipment hardware, associated firmware, and software required to provide the ability to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other human-caused disasters.

The Naval Warfare Information Center, NIWC-PAC’s mission is to perform installation, integrated engineering, and configuration as well as performing retrofit services to existing automated vehicle gates and automated personnel turnstile systems deployed at various NAVFAC facilities/US Naval installations as well as maintaining these systems in lab settings.

In this role, you will:

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment including:
• Automated Vehicle Gates (AVGs), Automated Personnel Turnstiles (APTs), Access Control Systems, Vehicle and Personnel Sensors, Human Interface Devices, CCTV Cameras and associated transmission devices, Video Management Systems
• Identify faults, analyze readings, and repair product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed, train employees
• Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers' needs.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An active DoD Secret clearance 
• A bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience OR a high school diploma/GED with 4 years' experience in the field
• Ability to travel locally and OCONUS distance up to 50% of the time as needed
• A solid understanding of electrical and electronic troubleshooting, and the ability to read and interpret associated drawings
• Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures related to the job description listed above.

  • ID Card Readers
