Position Description

In the role of a QA Specialist, you will perform quality dimensional, visual inspection and testing of precision machined components by programming and operating CMM equipment in conjunction with using various measuring devices to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

 

This is a part-time/on-call position 

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Inspect parts such as cables and circuit card assemblies’ s per engineering specifications.
  • Verify conformance of high complexity products using various inspection instruments (micrometers, microscopes, multi-meter, etc.).
  • Read and interpret production travelers and engineering specifications to ensure product conformance at each manufacturing product sequence.
  • Document part characteristics and measurements.
  • Record data from inspection files and maintain accurate and legible inspection records.
  • Attend meetings and provide requested information, as requested.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices
  • Recommend inspection fixtures or gages for production purposes.
  • Other occasional work assignments not mentioned may also be required.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • U.S Citizenship 
  • A Bachelors degree
    • Or a High School Diploma/GED with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree 
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience 
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, and Engineering Change Notices, to determine requirements for meeting drawing requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience in a quality assurance environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make decisions
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment
  • IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 soldering experience required

Additional desired experience and skills: 

  • 4+ years experience with electro-mechanical, cable, and circuit card assemblies preferred
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 experience preferred
