**This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain your current DOD Secret level Security Clearance and upon position availability. **

 

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct gap analyses between SRF-W IOS, SRF-W FOS, and Sovereign Ready milestones as defined under Pillar I of the AUKUS Optimal Pathway. Specifically, pertaining to engineering skillsets, maintenance capabilities, and infrastructure required for Australian sustainment of a Virginia Class Submarine nuclear propulsion plant. Develop and recommend strategies and plans to close these gaps.
  • Support program development and implementation related to information sharing, workforce development, and technical capability uplift in support of Naval Reactor’s commitments to the Australian Submarine Agency under Pillar I of the AUKUS Optimal Pathway.
  • Develop and provide technical training to Australian personal on the operation, maintenance, and sustainment of Virginia Class Submarine nuclear propulsion plants.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and project reviews of Australian technical capabilities and infrastructure projects necessary to support Pillar I of the AUKUS Optimal Pathway.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Computer, Electrical or other engineering degree or related field (Physics, for example). A technical master's degree is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience, including experience in operations and/or design, testing, and issue resolution associated with Naval Nuclear Propulsion systems.
  • Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience at a Prototype, Nuclear shipyard, or shipboard is highly preferred.
  • Articulate in both oral and written formats.
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Provide rigorous, responsive, technical acumen while retaining a collaborative and amiable approach.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $103,977.88 to $173,296.47; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
