Position Description

 

Serco is seeking a Joint Effects Division (JED) Manager to join our team supporting the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In this role, you will train U.S. Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command System and Operations Process. You will help facilitate simulation exercises that replicate a robust operating environment designed for Large Scale Combat Operations.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Operate in direct support of the Military Joint Effects Division (JED), developing, implementing, and providing recommendations for training in kinetic and non-kinetic environments.
  • Lead the Joint Targeting Team managing the targeting database and concept of operations.
  • Guide the Media and Information Environment Team in replicating operational environments for both OPFOR and BLUFOR.
  • Conduct planning with Plans team to develop and refine scenarios during pre-exercise phases.
  • Serve as the central integration point for targeting and information environment efforts during execution.
  • Enable the Higher Headquarters Response Cell (HICOM) and provide injects to drive training objectives.
  • Coordinate with Plans, CUOPS, and Operations Groups to ensure the exercise scenarios provide appropriate stimulus.
  • Adjudicate effects to maintain balance between OPFOR and BLUFOR during execution.

Qualifications

  • Former U.S. Army field grade officer
  • Graduate of Military Education Level 4 (Intermediate Level Education)
  • Prior service in key developmental position at Brigade or Division level
  • Staff experience at Division or Corps level with recent mission command experience
  • Ability to travel independently to CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Familiarity with current Army and Joint doctrine

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Leadership and supervisory skills to manage a multi-disciplinary staff
  • Experience scripting training scenarios to meet specific objectives
  • Ability to anticipate training needs and generate innovative scenario-based solutions
  • Expertise in scenario development aligned with Army guidance
  • Proven ability to integrate and respond to Warfighting Function-specific RFIs

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Mastery of current Army and Joint doctrine
  • OIF or OEF operational experience
  • Background as an OCT (Observer, Coach, Trainer) and participation in Warfighter Exercises
  • Joint qualification and experience at the Joint, Unified Command, or Joint Task Force level
  • Completion of U.S. Army War College or service equivalent
  • MCTP COG experience and/or service as an Army school instructor
