Position Description

Serco is seeking a highly experienced Staff Chief Engineer to support the Air Force Modeling and Simulation Support Services (AFMS3) program in Orlando, FL. In this senior technical role, you will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, software, support, and test components. You will be the definitive technical authority, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet program cost, schedule, and performance objectives.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the chief engineering authority for all technical aspects of the program, including hardware, software, support, and test elements.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage technical performance across all program elements, including subcontracted components.
  • Oversee requirements development, system design, and verification and validation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, engineering processes, and quality standards.
  • Maintain oversight of engineering teams within integrated product teams (IPTs), ensuring best practices and consistent execution.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering and program integration team (PIT) leaders to ensure fulfillment of the statement of work and program baselines.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the customer.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with 12 years of experience OR Master’s degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated technical breadth across systems, software, and cybersecurity domains.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Proven ability to lead large-scale technical teams and manage complex engineering programs.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Expertise in ensuring horizontal integration and consistent application of engineering best practices.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • A track record of technical leadership on Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
  • Familiarity with AFMS3 and associated modeling and simulation integration challenges.
