Position Description

Serco is seeking a Network Communications Manager 2 to join our growing team at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). In this key leadership role, you will coordinate technical, networking, exercise design, and operational support across multiple integrated teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct overall management coordination for all training environments including technical, networking, exercise design, and required operational support.
  • Manage integrated teams of subject matter experts in networking, cyber security, and Mission Command Systems (Fires, Intelligence, Maneuver, and Air).
  • Lead technical teams to:
    • Install, operate, integrate, and troubleshoot communications, applications, and configurations.
    • Establish network addresses and connections.
    • Monitor and analyze system performance.
    • Recommend and perform application maintenance and upgrades.
    • Conduct data backups and system recovery operations.
    • Install information assurance vulnerability alert (IAVA) patches, apply security updates, respond to critical vulnerabilities, and conduct remediation before, during, and after exercises using the JLCCTC suite and federation tools.
  • Coordinate Mission Command Assistance Team (MCAT) support at the Mission Training Center (MTC) or the Training Unit Commander (TUC) point of need.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of leadership experience, or
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, network planning, and use of Army Maneuver Control Systems (MCSs).
  • Must have or acquire DoD 8570.010-M baseline certifications and specialty training for IAT-I position within 180 days of appointment.
  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
  • Thorough understanding of DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assess and Authorize process and Cyber Security requirements.
  • Ability to frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds around the worksite.
  • Ability to support shifts outside standard working hours and exceed 40 hours during 24/7 exercise events.
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time).
  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing integrated technical teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Army network systems and security protocols.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Additional CompTIA certifications (Network+, A+).
  • Vendor certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Windows Server, and RedHat Linux certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Windows 10, RedHat Linux, and VMware environments.
