Position Description

 

Serco is seeking a Sr. Principal Games for Training Lead to join our team supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state. The selected candidate will lead a team operating the JBLM Army Games for Training (GFT) program to conduct collective training.


In this role, you will:

  • Leverage comprehensive understanding and application of principles, practices, and industry standards of mission command training and training support.
  • Perform complex professional tasks and solve complex problems independently.
  • Develop approaches to solutions and make independent decisions that do not result in serious program delays or considerable expenditure of resources.
  • Provide consulting expertise to military and defense clients in the development and evaluation of military training, and participate in determining unit objectives.
  • Represent the GFT team daily as a prime contact, interacting with senior internal and external partners often requiring coordination between multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver presentations.
  • Ensure all software and hardware configurations and various simulation systems such as GFT, Warrior Skills Trainers (WST), and Shoothouse (TSS) communicate and work reliably.
  • Operate any system in the facility independently while supervising a team of 4-7 trainers and technicians.
  • Work directly with customer units to plan and develop training plans.
  • Develop training scenarios and products that meet unit requirements and Commanders’ training intent.
  • Coach Soldiers on the use of gaming hardware for training and assist customers in achieving their goals.
  • Act as the GFT system administrator and lead facilitator.
  • Leverage expertise with multiple simulation and tactical communication systems.
  • Use scripts in the Run Time Editor to change variables and conditions within the simulation environment as required by the Commander.
  • Brief leaders, visitors, and distinguished guests, showcasing the capabilities of the systems and the professionalism of the staff.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and correct system issues as needed.
  • Maintain a common database of add-ons allowing speedy integration of multiple systems into a single simulation when required by unit training events.
  • Support other training requirements within the Mission Training Center team as needed.

Qualifications

  • One of the following:o High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of simulation training experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of simulation training experience.
    • Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of simulation training experience.
  • Military leadership experience at platoon or higher level.
  • Familiarity with the basic operation of Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS).
  • Familiarity with current military regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, interfacing with multiple contractors, Government, and U.S. military personnel.
  • Must be able to work on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time).
  • Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to pick up and move a minimum of 50 pounds.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to supervise and coordinate a team of trainers and technicians.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Combat Arms Senior NCO experience.
  • Current valid certifications in CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+.
