We are seeking an experienced Senior Marine Engineer to lead and support the technical accuracy and currency of engineering documentation while providing subject matter expertise across marine systems. This role includes mentoring junior engineers, reviewing engineering changes, and ensuring alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Serve as a subject matter expert for propulsion, auxiliary, and marine systems across ongoing and legacy programs.
Provide design and troubleshooting guidance across hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E) disciplines.
Review engineering deliverables (e.g., P&IDs, calculations, specifications) for accuracy and technical quality.
Document Control and Updates
Lead updates to technical documents including system schematics, operation manuals, technical reports, and configuration baselines.
Validate documentation compliance with ABS, DNV, USCG, and other applicable standards.
Mentorship and Development
Coach junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on design best practices, documentation protocols, and professional development.
Review and support technical training materials and onboard system walkthroughs.
Cross-functional Support
Collaborate with design, production, and logistics teams to resolve engineering issues and support system lifecycle management.
Support customer reviews, readiness assessments, and internal audits.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of relevant experience in marine engineering design, operations, or shipbuilding.
Proven experience updating and maintaining engineering documentation.
Strong knowledge of shipboard systems and regulatory standards (e.g., SOLAS, IMO, MIL-STD, ASME, IEEE).
Ability to travel 10%
