Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Disaster Claims Project Manager, who will bring extensive in disaster-related claims and planning. With over five years of experience in claims processing and evaluation, the ideal candidate will excel in interpreting complex federal policies, assessing disaster-related losses, and enhancing service delivery through effective communication and technology use. This role is critical in supporting our mission to navigate and manage disaster-related scenarios efficiently and accurately.

 

As a Disaster Claims Project Manager, you will:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for managing and processing disaster-related claims.
  • Interpret and apply complex federal policy language, statutes, and regulations, ensuring compliance and efficiency in processing claims.
  • Conduct detailed evaluations of disaster-related damages and determine repair and replacement costs.
  • Provide clear and effective communication to claimants, FEMA staff, and stakeholders, facilitating their understanding of policy and procedural nuances.
  • Use claims management software and databases proficiently to streamline processing, documentation, and communication tasks.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and issues related to claims with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to develop strategies for effective disaster management and claim resolution.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and policy changes that impact disaster claim processes and planning.

Candidates must be within commuting distance of Santa Fe, NM or willing to deploy. Hotels and per diem will be provided to those candidates who deploy.

 

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the target salary range is $57,000 - $80,000; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in claim/case processing roles, emphasizing customer service, data entry, and loss evaluation.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex federal policy language with precision.
  • Proficient in disaster-related assessments and cost evaluations for losses and damages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain policies and procedures effectively.
  • Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and tools to enhance documentation and communication.
  • Previous experience you have working with attorneys as claimant representatives is a plus.
