Team Submarine’s Submarine Program Offices are responsible for:
The acquisition of the COLUMBIA Class SSBN and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the COLUMBIA Class. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarines (SSN(X)). The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Additionally, successful improvement of the Class' capabilities is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The NAVSEA 05Z5 Directorate is responsible for the design and development of the COLUMBIA class Integrated Power System that provides power distribution and propulsion for the future ballistic missile submarine. They work with directly with the shipbuilder for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating all resources required for the design, construction, and Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the future submarine’s power system. They are also responsible for all of the Turbine Generators for generating electricity for all submarine and CVNs. The future Ballistic Missile Submarine is the nation’s top defense priority as the only survivable leg of the nuclear triad.
PMS 351 Program office is responsible to PEO Submarines for the design and development of SSN(X), the Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarine. They work directly with the shipbuilder to achieve a design that meets all of the required capabilities for this new platform. The future Attack Submarine will be designed to retain multi-mission capability and sustained combat presence in denied waters with a focus on greater speed, stealth, and horizontal payloads and salvo rates, making the SSN(X) program critical to the future of our National Defense.

Serco-NA is seeking a motivated individual to provide Engineering support to NAVSEA 05Z5. Serco-NA has an immediate opening for an electrical or mechanical engineer with submarine power generation systems expertise and detailed design experience to support our active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area.

Support the design and development of the CLB IPS electrical system, including, but not limited to:
Design and implementation of electrical power generation and distribution systems
Development and integration of control systems for all power generation components
Design and development of the Turbine Generator, with an emphasis on the generator end
Design and integration of control systems for the Turbine Generator
Collaborate closely with Naval Reactors, PMS 397, the shipbuilder, and component vendors to define and meet detailed design requirements
Ensure all production units meet established design criteria and maintain the highest quality standards
