Team Submarine’s Submarine Program Offices are responsible for:
The acquisition of the COLUMBIA Class SSBN and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E) and Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E) of the COLUMBIA Class. The program is a major defense acquisition program and is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarines (SSN(X)). The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Additionally, successful improvement of the Class' capabilities is of significant political importance with Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
The NAVSEA 05Z5 Directorate is responsible for the design and development of the COLUMBIA class Integrated Power System that provides power distribution and propulsion for the future ballistic missile submarine. They work with directly with the shipbuilder for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating all resources required for the design, construction, and Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the future submarine’s power system. They are also responsible for all of the Turbine Generators for generating electricity for all submarine and CVNs. The future Ballistic Missile Submarine is the nation’s top defense priority as the only survivable leg of the nuclear triad.
PMS 351 Program office is responsible to PEO Submarines for the design and development of SSN(X), the Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarine. They work directly with the shipbuilder to achieve a design that meets all of the required capabilities for this new platform. The future Attack Submarine will be designed to retain multi-mission capability and sustained combat presence in denied waters with a focus on greater speed, stealth, and horizontal payloads and salvo rates, making the SSN(X) program critical to the future of our National Defense.

Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their Team Submarine contract supporting the acquisition of submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies once diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.
Serco-NA is seeking a motivated individual to provide programmatic support for SSN(X). Serco-NA has an opening for a technical manager with submarine systems and R&D expertise to support our active contract with the U.S. Navy in the Washington, DC area.
In this role you will:
Provide daily project management and technical coordination support for the design development and R&D planning of future attack submarines. Work under the direction of the Ship Design Manager (SDM) for Future Submarines (NAVSEA 05U) and the R&D Manager within the SSN(X) Project Office (PMS 4XX).
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to develop high-quality documentation, schedules, plans, and presentations.
Provide comprehensive project management support, aligning efforts between project management, financial teams, and technical/R&D stakeholders.
Generate both strategic and tactical documentation, including schedules, plans, and briefing materials to support short- and long-term planning for the SSN(X) technical and R&D teams.
Consolidate input from diverse stakeholders into cohesive reports, presentations, and planning documents under tight deadlines.
Manage version control and document tracking through internal and external review cycles, ensuring accurate and timely final product delivery.
Compile and summarize tasking proposals received by PMS 4XX, producing high-level documentation to support funding decisions and prioritization for upcoming fiscal years.
Track task execution throughout the year, maintaining records of deliverables and documenting progress.
Assist in organizing and facilitating technical studies, meetings, and working groups with subject matter experts to define problems and establish areas of responsibility.
Prepare briefing materials, agendas, and rosters for team meetings; coordinate security clearance for participants, manage attendance, take detailed meeting notes, and produce official summaries and action trackers.
