Position Description

We are seeking accomplished Subject Manager Expert(s) SME, to join our team, providing strategic support in recovery initiatives in an area of expertise which will support the federal government. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Forensic Accounting, Reforestation, Risk Reduction, Fraud Specialist, GIS Specialist and/or Adobe Construction.  This role involves collaboration with program teams, high-level leadership, and ensuring precision in execution. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Ability to understand interpret complex federal policy language, including relevant statutes, regulations, policies, guidance and directions.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to team, particularly in disaster operational settings. 
  • Disaster related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses, damages, repairs, and replacement costs in line with your are of expertise 
  • Lead and contribute as a member of a team, fostering a collaborative and motivating environment. 
  • Communicate program objectives, progress, and changes effectively through excellent written and oral communication. 
  • Demonstrate keen attention to detail, organized management of tasks, and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure. 
  • Proficient in assessing property and fire-related and flood-related, and other compensable damages.

 

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $95,604.60 to $191,209.20; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and any industry-standard certification required for such position (Engineers must have a professional Engineer registration). 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience. 
  • Experience in disaster operations is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and guide strategic initiatives. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders and team members at all levels. 
  • Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail and proficiency in multi-tasking under pressure. 
  • Expertise in conflict resolution and risk management to ensure smooth program execution. 
  • Ability to motivate team members and foster effective teamwork within a diverse environment. 

 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Previous experience working with/for an insurance provider. 
  • Claims review experience. 
  • Site Inspection
