Position Description

Serco supports the Navy as prime for their Amphibious Assault & Connectors Program Office Professional Support Services contract. The Planning Yard team supports the Landing Craft Division in the maintenance of the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC), the configuration and engineering management of the new Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1700, and the new Ship to Shore Connector (SSC).

 

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

 

As a Data Entry Operator, you will support the Configuration Status Manager (CSM) in maintaining the Model Based Product Support (MBPS) database in ensuring historical accuracy of the craft configuration. You will be part of a stellar 5-person CSM team that works closely with the customer in delivering quality products and services to the fleet.


In this role you will:

  • Support the Landing Craft Planning Yard (LCPY) Configuration Status Manager (CSM) in updating and maintaining the Model Based Product Support (MBPS) database for Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC), and LCU1700 (Landing Craft, Utility) programs.
  • Work under close supervision and follow specific procedures or detailed instructions.
  • Work from various standardized source documents that have been coded and require little or no selecting, coding or interpreting of data.
  • Update MBPS to reflect Availability Planning Matrix (APM) availabilities/overhaul planning.
  • Update MBPS with results of Pre-Overhaul Testing & Inspection (POT & I) Reports.
  • Process On-site Representative (OSR) month end reports and update MBPS as needed.
  • Set-up approved Craft Change Documents (CCDs), Alteration Work Items (AWIs), and Class Work Items (CWIs) in MBPS.
  • Keep up-to-date and current on changes to MBPS and Technical Specification 9090-700
  • Prepare reports for CSM from spreadsheets and databases.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A High School diploma and 0-2 years of relevant experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 4 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Must be able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance post-employment.
  • Recent use and proficiency of MS Excel and other MS programs such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint are required. 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Prior Navy experience, while not required is desired.
