This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer an active DoD Secret Clearance.

 

This position supports the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program Office (PNT PO) with ongoing modernization, development, and sustainment of a variety of GPS receivers and user equipment to meet existing DoD / civil mandates and DoD / national-level priorities.

 

In this role, you will: 

  • Requires interfacing with a large number of Air Force, Navy and Army offices for coordination of program planning and technical interfaces during the acquisition and sustainment phases.
  • This position will be assigned within government offices at Warner Robins, GA.
  • Responsible for providing logistics support ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of acquisition and logistics services in support of the customer’s mission.  Services include some or all of the following:
    • Maintaining the accuracy, adequacy, modification, classification, review, and currency of the technical content of technical orders that support GPS equipment. This includes engineering data, source data, schematic diagrams, flow diagrams, commercial technical manuals.
    • Performing cataloging actions for new and existing systems.
    • Participates in provisioning conferences and assigns maintenance factors to items.
    • Determines through evaluation of deficiency reports, tear down reports, engineering recommendations, and maintenance failure data, corrective actions required to maintain effective utilization and reliability of equipment.
    • Prepares time compliance technical orders to correct problems or improve product by a hardware or software change.
    • Initiates TCTO’s and Computer Program Identification Number (CPIN) requirements and develops implementation plans and schedules updates.
    • Participates in depot IV&V, time studies, depot meeting and other depot activities to support PM and Engineering communities as necessary.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:   

  • A U.S. citizenship
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance (or eligibility to obtain Secret Clearance within a prescribed timeframe)
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years related experience dealing with operation and repair of DoD avionics equipment, reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements, reading and interpreting engineering technical orders, equipment requisitions and/or shop/work orders
  • An extensive understanding of modification, repair and disposal programs in order to avoid critical shortages or expensive surpluses.
  • An excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Travel up to 10% of the time

 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience with government logistics support systems
  • Experience analyzing deficiency reports
  • Experience writing, revising and/or verifying technical manuals
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings, military standards, specifications, technical orders and/or technical manuals
  • Experience in cataloging and provisioning
  • Experience with defense acquisition management processes as contained in the DoD 5000 series directives.
