Serco is looking for an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) to join our talented team of learning and content developers. This is a 100% remote and Part-time-on-call opportunity.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact with our Learning and Performance Solutions (LPS) organization.

You will be part of a team of learning and development experts that work closely together and with our government and military partners to help develop and implement training solutions for DoD and Civilian agencies to meet critical missions.

 

In this role you will:

  • Work under the supervision of the Project Manager or the Senior Instructional Designer to develop and document instructor-led, paper-based, and technology delivered curricula or performance support solutions
  • Work with a design team to perform analysis, design and development for instructional and/or performance support solutions
  • Contribute to the course development and course delivery phases of the project
  • Write clear, concise instructional content
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to review and edit course development materials
  • Develop simple graphics and tables and other supporting materials
  • Review products throughout analysis, design, and development for style guidelines, writing standards, and sensible course/task flow
  • Throughout the design process, recommend design options for improved usability and 508 compliance

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • The ability to pass a contract-specific background investigation
    • Requires US Citizenship
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Education, Training/Curriculum Development or a related field
  • 2 years of related experience within instructional content creation
  • Demonstrate ability with word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate; other authoring (e.g. Articulate) and development tools a plus but not mandatory
  • Must display organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks for themselves, while demonstrating the initiative to complete projects with minimum supervision
  • The ability to travel up to 10%.
