Serco is looking for a Senior Instructional Systems Designer (Sr. ISD) to join our talented team of learning and content developers. This is a 100% remote and Part-time-on-call opportunity.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact with our Learning and Performance Solutions (LPS) organization. You will be part of a team of learning and development experts that work closely together and with our government and military partners to help develop and implement training solutions for DoD and Civilian agencies to meet critical missions.

 

In this role you will:

  • Work under the supervision of the Project Manager or Senior Instructional Designer to develop and document instructor-led, paper-based, and technology delivered curricula or performance support solutions
  • Conduct end-user needs assessment and performance assessment, analyzes results to determine learning needs and performance gaps
  • Consult with clients to identify new requirements and strategies
  • Work with the instructional design team (instructional designers, graphic artists, programmers) and project and program manages to design responsive training and/or performance support solutions and schedules
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the ISD process and fosters design innovation. Captures and diagrams workflow processes, conducts task analysis and workflow observations.
  • Participate in visual design, prototyping, and usability testing and evaluation.
  • Review products throughout analysis, design, and development for style guidelines, writing standards, and sensible course/task flow
  • Throughout the design process, recommend design options for improved usability and 508 compliance
  • Demonstrate ability with word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with web design and web development
  • Broad knowledge of the field of human-computer interaction and performance-centered design; demonstrated ability to present complex information clearly
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong skills presentation, facilitation, interpersonal and client interaction skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail; demonstrated ability to act a technical editor
  • Proven experience as a team player

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • The ability to pass a contract-specific background investigation
    • Requires US Citizenship
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Education, Training/Curriculum Development or a related field
  • 5 years of related experience within instructional content creation
  • Demonstrate ability with word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate; other authoring (e.g. Articulate) and development tools
  • The ability to travel up to 10%.

 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience with leadership training preferred
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) desired but not mandatory
