TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS,

National Capitol Region

Headquarters in Herndon, VA

 

Are you looking for an IT oriented System Architecture position that supports the Corporate Business Lines at Serco North America. Bring your expertise to this great opportunity in NCR, Nation Capitol Region.

 

This Serco opportunity supports the IT Infrastructure of Serco North America.

 

You will provide innovative IT solutioning for the Cloud and physical IT environments. Our team manages multiple cloud environments providing Network administration, Help Desk, Cybersecurity and SME support for both the network and the Engineering for our work force.

 

The role supports the capture with customer meetings through extending Serco’s capabilities, services, and solutions; participates in development of solutions to complex problems which require a high degree of ingenuity and innovation; and collaborates with business units to craft unique solutions to respond to customer challenges that may also serve precedent for future opportunities and decisions.

 

In this role:

 

You will apply your broad knowledge of IT and proven innovation and IT solutioning skills to manage and improve the IT and Cloud network infrastructure at Serco North America.

 

  • You will be responsible for providing automation solutions for monitoring and management of the IT Infrastructure for current and future proposal efforts.
  • Collaborate with other SMEs, Subject Matter Experts, with in the other matrix departments and Business Units to develop comprehensive and compelling technical solutions
  • Develop technical solutions to meet customer technical, schedule and price requirements that also provide best value.
  • Maximize use of repeatable solutions and offerings when applicable for projects.
  • Provide technical execution support.
  • Provide technical expertise to the PM during program start-ups.
  • Assist and conduct Oral and Written Presentations to our DoD customers.
  • Assist in technical issue resolution as requested by the Program Manager
  • Partner with internal technical, management and leader stakeholders to devise innovative technical solutions that fit within customer constraints.
  • Lead develops tailored Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) IAW company standards and customer requirements.
  • Lead development of the resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), integrating different functional inputs into a coherent, executable project plan.
  • Tailor the engineering development process in support of the above activities
  • You will be responsible for the development of migration solutions to Cloud environments.
  • You will be responsible for the development of IT Help Desk knowledge management plans.
  • You will be responsible for providing IT infrastructure with upgrade recommendations.
  • Identify technical solution requirements.
  • Other duties may be assigned. This position will report to a Program Manager or Director within the Business Units at Serco North America and capture teams.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity.
  • At least seven (7) years’ experience in U.S. DoD IT infrastructure management with relevant experience within the last two (2) years related to the job description listed above.
  • Active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification or in the process of obtaining your CISSP within the next six months.please add your ID number to your profile or list it on your resume for verification purposes or date of scheduled exam.
  • Meet the 8140/8570 IT DoD baseline certification for this role, category (IAT, IAM, IASAE), and level of access.
  • Full life cycle experience: Front end BD and sales pipeline through the development life cycle and into production and sustainment activities
  • Experience with program reporting to upper management
  • Experience building effective relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Program Management experience managing multi-discipline teams including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics, and contracts.
  • Experience with Program Risks and Opportunities
  • Experience with KPI’s within the DoD space.
  • Exceptional knowledge of:

 

    • DOD IT Infrastructure
    • Security Technical Implementation Guides
    • Program management methods and Earned Value Management
    • LINUX operating system experience and CISCO Networking experience
    • Cloud applications: AWS and Azure.
    • Corporate infrastructures within Government Contracting PMO offices.
    •  
  • A strong understanding of flexible service delivery models and up-to-date experience with leading technological trends and technologies in the end user solutions space for the DoD customers.
  • A strong understanding of time management, meeting facilitation and problem-solving
  • The ability to demonstrate solutions and ideas verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to demonstrate the ability to create and give capture teams solutions as well as program management review presentations.
  • The ability to negotiate and apply tact and diplomacy with internal/external customers and foreign personnel.
  • The ability to work independently in building and then lead an integrated product team.
  • The ability to demonstrate the ability to complete work successfully; within scope, on time, within budget and delivering a quality product to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • The ability to interface with and effectively represent technical solutions to executive-level Serco stakeholders and customers.
  • Initiative-taking, detail oriented responsible team player able to work independently with minimal daily direction; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills.
  • Be willing to travel up to 50%.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • ITIL v3 Foundations Certification.
  • Experience supporting geographically diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with the DoD, Department of Defense, contracts throughout the NCR, National Capital Region.

 

Preferred or Additional desired experience, education, skills: 

  • Former Military experience is preferred.
  • Per customer approval and business managers this position may be offered a hybrid schedule.
