Serco supports the US Army as a prime contractor for their Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) contract which supports integrating capabilities that enable the service to employ Command Posts (CP) across the operational spectrum.  Our team develops, integrates, and maintains modern and mobile solutions for an integrated CP infrastructure. 

 

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco functional area teams to deliver quality systems and associated supporting documentation.  The team has been recognized by the Army Customer and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, organize, and write user guides, manuals, work instructions, training material, and other technical publications that are easy to understand.
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
  • Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts, developers, and product managers to gather and interpret technical information.
  • Create diagrams, charts, and other visuals to enhance user comprehension of complex topics.
  • Create and maintain the information architecture.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:  

  • An Active Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in technical writing
    • or Certified Technical Writer with 6 years of experience in technical writing
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and graphic design software.
  • Demonstrate Technical Proficiency
  • Ability to travel up too 25% (Fort Carson, CO)

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and network operations.
  • Experience with document development to military standards.
  • Experience with graphic design software
  • Understanding of an ISO 9001:205 QMS system
  • Familiar with XML
