Position Description

The positions on this contract are located both CONUS and OCONUS in support of the Army Sustainment Command (ASC).  

 

**This is NOT a remote role. This role will require you to report on-site 5x/week.**

 

**This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.**

 

The Specialized Logistics Management Specialist will do the following in this role:

  • Provide support of multiple program functions for Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Authorized Stockage Lists (ASL) and Shop Stock (SS) determination mission and supported areas with a wide range of customer requirements in the Army supply systems and operations to develop, implement and sustain ASL/SS for the Army.
  • Assist with the development of Authorized Stockage Lists (ASL) and Shop Stock (SS) recommendation packages, from the ground up, and augmentations to an ASL/SS in the theater of operation to support mission requirements.
  •  Assist with the review and implementation of ASL/SS Data Packages into the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) or replacement supply system per a predetermined schedule or on an as needed basis.
  • Use decision support tools consisting of Oracle, TOAD, Structured Query Language (SQL), Business Intelligence Suite of Tools and Microsoft Suite of Tools or replacements in accomplishment of daily workload.
  • Perform performance trend analysis on all ASL/SS implementations, produce reports which logically state the issues and reach conclusions which are supported by the data and analysis, engage management for any negative trends to initiate any additional actions.
  • Provide assistance in researching and responding to Request for Information (RFI) from various agencies.
  • Perform in-depth research and analysis of supply system emerging policies, regulations, directives or internal and external Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare reports, briefings and information papers on current and changing requirements.
  • Monitor and report on logistical priorities through attendance at various daily operations, teleconferences, workshops and staff meetings.
  • Maintain continuous liaison with Accountable Officers, Instillation Supply Analysist, and Staff.
  • Provide inputs on current and changing operation requirements that impact the Division, emerging missions or changes in customer mission or operational environment.
  • Provide status reports to the Government on contract obligations.
  • May be required to travel to remote locations and provide support on current or emerging requirements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • US Citizenship.
  • An Active Secret security clearance.
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • A minimum of eight years (8) of experience as a Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) Subject Master Expert (SME).
  • Functional knowledge of Army retail and wholesale logistics systems to include the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A) and Army Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) along with their interface, or applicability to ASL/SS development and sustainment.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing logistics activities such as: analyzing data, determining stockage recommendations, analyzing stockage performance, implementing corrective actions, tracking and monitoring internal and external processes.
  • The ability to perform scheduled ASL/SS reviews, along with as needed reviews based on performance indicators and mission requirements.
  • Knowledge of logistics database development and supply procedures including developing and documenting functional processing logic, programming specifications, data types and relationships, and functional testing.
  • Broad knowledge and utilization of Vantage, Oracle, TOAD, Structured Query Language (SQL), and the GCSS-A Business Intelligence Suite of Tools or there replacement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Tools, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Functional knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods required to support a wide range of customer requirements for Army tactical units and other organizations.
  • Broad knowledge of Army, DoD, and other Agency organizational structure, logistics policy and logistics processes.
  • The ability in identifying areas of programmatic deficiency, accomplishing analyses and be able to make recommendations for enhancements.
  • The ability to prepare procedures, information papers, briefings and reports.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
