Position Description

The Technical Project Leader will be supporting the buildup and modernization of facilities the United States. Bring your expertise and grow with a company supporting our military defense and training sites.

 

You will be part of leading a member team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the customers for their outstanding contributions to several contracts and programs.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Lead your team on submarine projects from inception through completion and provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with technical requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating tasks.
  • Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of task schedules and resource requirements and review work for quality assurance.
  • Compose memoranda, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for daily and weekly meetings with customer.
  • Attend meetings and make presentations about project status and work commitments.
  • Establish and implement training of all staff members and instruct them on customer’s methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate, develop, or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and takes corrective action.
  • Review employee schedules and timecards.
  • Participate in long-range planning, analysis, and program design.
  • Participate in the planning and design of new projects as requested.
  • Effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic production environment.
  • Handle ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and capable of developing appropriate solutions to emergent issues.
  • Quickly learn new program functional skills and tasks.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Work independently.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A U.S. Government granted personnel security clearance at the Secret level and US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of shipboard experience
    • Or an Associate’s degree and 10 years of shipboard experience
    • Or a High School Diploma and 12 years of shipboard experience
  • Preference given to submarine qualified applicants
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Knowledge of DoD program execution, including scheduling, data gathering and analysis, or government contracts.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office products to use and create spreadsheets, reports and presentations.
