Position Description

If you enjoy working on high profile and challenging engineering projects supporting the US Army, Serco has a great opportunity for youThe Material Coordinator will be part of a dynamic team at our Fort Bliss, Texas location.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and success of our Soldiers. 

Serco supports the US Army as a prime contractor for their Command Post Integrated Infrastructure (CPI2) contract which supports implementing capabilities that enable the service to employ Command Posts (CP) across the operational spectrumOur team develops, integrates, and maintains modern and mobile solutions for an integrated CP infrastructure.   

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco functional area teams to deliver quality systems and associated supporting documentationThe team has been recognized by the Army Customer and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Coordinate and expedite flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors` priorities 
  • Review production schedules and confer with department supervisors to determine material required 
  • Requisition material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material 
  • Arrange for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, and with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments 
  • Examine material delivered to production departments to verify type specified 
  • Compile report of quantity and type of material on hand 
  • Move or transport material from one department to another, using hand or industrial truck 
  • Compile perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system, and maintain employee records 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:  

  • An active DoD Secret clearance. 
  • A high school diploma and 2 years of material coordinator experience 
  • Knowledge of MSOffice computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) 
  • Travel up to 25%

 

Additional desired experience and skills: 

  • Knowledge of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and/or Government logistics and inventory databases. 
  • Knowledge of supply and warehouse operations; preferably within Government or Military operations 
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001:2015 
  • Forklift Experience is a plus
