Position Description

JOIN OUR TEAM to assist and prepare over 200,000 servicemembers who separate annually from the United States Military begin a new life chapter as a civilian. The Department of Labor (DOL) Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) program requires contractor services to support these transitioning servicemembers through its highly successful Transition Assistance Program (TAP) that is offered world-wide to conduct job assistance workshops, employment counseling, as well as connection to approved government and non-government partners.  Our team ensures servicemembers and their families have the necessary career tools and information to seamlessly transition into the civilian workforce.

 

The DOL VETS TAP program needs a skilled and compassionate Data Analyst who has prior experience in data analysis and the creation of various reports. You will be part of a team of analysts and data professionals that provides support services to the other task areas of the project.  You may work directly or indirectly with internal customers and/or with our government client.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Analyze data to identify trends and potential technical and management problems.
  • Draft reports of findings along with related documentation for higher-level review.
  • Communicate through written and verbal means analysis findings, follow-on effects and any obstacles to internal and external customers
  • Make data-based recommendations to influence business and policy decisions
  • Collect and evaluate data to comprehend complex business requirements and procedures and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement.
  • Provide Program Management support to complete various analytical and reporting tasks.
  • Perform clerical and administrative support tasks.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience.
  • The ability to demonstrate an understanding data/statistical analysis/data manipulation tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and Office software tools.
  • Prior experience compiling, analyzing, maintaining, verifying and interpreting data from large data sets in accordance with plans developed by others.
  • Familiar with statistical concepts, practices, methods and procedures such as mean, median, confidence intervals and statistical significance.
  • Able to conduct data studies, evaluations and design systems and procedures. 

 

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the military community and the challenges experienced when service members transition from the service to civilian life.
