Position Description

The U.S. Army Planning, Programming and Budgeting Business Operating System (PPB BOS) Program provides technical support services to the Army G-8 Program Analysis and Evaluation (PA&E) office for the development, implementation & sustainment of the of the Army Planning, Programming,  Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE), which is employed by Army Headquarters to develop the Army portion of the President’s Budget. In this capacity, you will be working a hybrid schedule with at least 3-4 days per week onsite at the Pentagon.

This position requires an active or interim Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

As a SysOPS Support Administrator, you will be supporting users and applications in the AWS GovCloud environment.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Perform application deployments for both custom developed and COTs applications.
  • Interact directly with the customer to coordinate software upgrades, maintenance, and system support activities.
  • Monitor systems and application performance. Troubleshooting performance issues through root-cause analysis and addressing system challenges.
  • Managing server and software configurations, ensuring adherence to established procedures, and documenting system changes.
  • Troubleshoot, Alert and Escalate operational issues
  • Lead and coordinate operational support efforts requiring input/action from multiple internal and external teams
  • Support occasional after-hours application deployments
  • Apply Windows Server and Red Hat operating system patches
  • Analyze process and make recommendations to improve team efficiency
  • Document standard operating procedures and promote use of engineering best practices.
  • Additional duties may include creating user and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, optimizing system performance, and allocating storage space.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field with a minimum of 8 years of enterprise IA/cybersecurity, cybersecurity operations, and/or federal cybersecurity compliance experience
    • Master’s degree in an IT-related field with a minimum of 6 years of enterprise IA/cybersecurity, cybersecurity operations, and/or federal cybersecurity compliance experience.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on tasks
  • Must have a Security+ certification or equivalent certification for DoD 8570 compliance
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Active SECRET or Interim SECRET Clearance required
  • Abilty to travel up to 10%

In compliance with the District of Columbia’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $119,574.56 to $199,290.94; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
