Position Description

The Material Coordinator will be based in Guam and will perform various Ashore and Afloat CHRIMP duties that require an understanding of the establishment`s storage plan. Work involves most of the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Operate hand or power trucks to perform warehousing duties.
  • Afloat & Ashore:Collect, receive, handle, transport, process, and prepare Hazardous Materials (HM) for storage and/or transporting with Ship to Shore Offloads.
  • Work in a warehouse setting and is involved in handling HM that may be flammable, caustic, toxic, and or explosive.
  • Receive, stow, inventory, select, and deliver HM to designated customers.
  • Perform checks on HM storage facilities and lockers to ensure proper storage, segregation and physical separation of incompatible material, and shelf-life management.
  • Manage materials to include inventory and shelf life reviews and update accordingly with the Government Designated System (GDS).

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Active NACI clearance or ability to obtain required clearance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to use Hazardous Material Management System and other Government Data Systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to operate hand or powered trucks.
  • Ability to load and offload transportation devices.

Successful completion of the following certifications and training prior to the beginning of full performance:

  • OSHA compliance training and Hazardous Materials Preparer Certification IAW Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) Part II, Cargo Movement
  • Chapter 204-7
  • Training and Preparing Hazardous Material for Military Air Shipment

This position supports a U.S. Government contract whose terms require that applicants possess U.S. Citizenship.
