Position Description

Join a dynamic team of communications professionals supporting beneficiary care for the Military Health System.

 

The Serco team supports the public affairs and communications activities of the Military Health System and Defense Health Agency. The communications professionals of this team promote the activities of the MHS, develop content for publication, respond to crisis communications, and manage the social and online communication channels.

 

You will be part of the social media team working closely with both the other members of the broader communications division and the government communications leadership.

 

In this role you will:

  • Support the broad communication activities and efforts of the Military Health System and the Defense Health Agency.
  • Coordinate with government and contract personnel across the communications teams and various programs and divisions within the MHS.
  • Develop unique social media content for MHS and DHA social accounts including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
  • Edit, publish, and manage social content across multiple platforms.
  • Leverage social media management tools (e.g.: Sprout Social, Hootsuite) to publish content and manage social activities.
  • Monitor, review, and respond to communication and inquiries across multiple social media channels.
  • Develop promotional campaigns and content supporting MHS and DHA goals and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with social media partners such as the Department of War, Department of Veterans Affairs, TRICARE, CDC, and other government agencies.
  • Support the broader communications initiatives and activities of the public affairs and communications divisions for MHS and DHA.
  • Coordinate and align social messaging with the health care initiatives supporting MHS beneficiaries.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Education or related field
  • Two years of experience developing content for organizational social media accounts
  • Experience creating multi-media content for Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms
  • Experience using content management tools (e.g. Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on cross-collaborative communications teams

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Experience working in MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of military structure and culture
  • Experience working in a government environment
  • Knowledge or experience in the health care industry
  • Creation of visual content for social media
  • Experience work in MS Office products

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the target salary range is $57k-$74k; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
