This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain your Secret clearance post-employment.

 

Serco supports the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division’s PC-based Open-architecture Reconfigurable Training System (PORTS) program based in Middletown, RI.  We are looking for a qualified System Integration Engineer to join our team.  This role will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining integrations solutions across various software and hardware platforms.   The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

In this role, you will perform the following tasks:

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, system services, application software and system management tools for Windows Systems and Servers, both natively and within virtual machines
  • Work with team to monitor and test applications, virtual machines, and systems to identify issues with installation and performance.
  • Troubleshoot Information Technology (IT) Systems to diagnose and suggest/implement potential solutions.
  • Support physical hardware installation of IT computing equipment and cabling at both local and remote sites.

Qualifications

To be Successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other STEM related fields and 5 years’ experience, master’s degree with 3 years of experience or 9 years in lieu of degree
  • Experience with Windows Installations and Deployments
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably HyperV
  • Networking knowledge (OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, DHCP)
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to work on site at Middletown RI.
  • Up to 10% travel may be required.
  • This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain your Secret clearance post-employment.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Active Security Clearance
  • Current IAT Level I Certifications
  • Network+
  • Security+
  • Experience with Cisco switch/router configuration development and deployment
  • Experience with System Build Automation Tools Windows Deployment Server (WDS) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Computer/Electronics Hardware knowledge
  • Configuration management experience with both centralized and distributed version control systems (e.g., SVN and Git)
